Our Syrian Partners

Picture
A Tale of Two Cities pairs Canadian and Syrian youth - to facilitate this we work with partners on the ground in Syria.

These Syrian non-violent citizens – who believe in peace, in human rights, in justice – are still in Syria, working hard on the ground and in their places of refuge for a better future.  It is these courageous men, women and kids – both inside and outside Syria – that we aims to empower.

Damascus Lovers

Our Inaugural Partner

Damascus Lovers grew out the Syrian uprising in 2011 as a group of young Syrian humanitarians. The group’s vision is that Damascus and the surrounding countryside build a better future together, where civil society plays a bigger role in social, economic and human resources development.

Damascus Lovers believes in the ability of Syrians, and that investing and empowering in people will encourage them to be more inclusive and foster a stronger, more resilient community.

Damascus Lovers works with residents of Damascus and the surrounding countryside who share in a belief for a bright tomorrow in Syria.

As part of their work, Damascus Lovers has launched Pomegranate Seeds, an initiative to support orphans in besieged Ghouta. Through Pomegranate Seeds, Damascus Lovers secures financial and other support for orphaned children, including monthly assistance for counselling, skills development or other needs, an annual winter campaign to provide clothes, as well as other ongoing training programs.
